Future Designs the First Lanvin Lab Collection
Lanvin to Release Inaugural Collection Designed by Future
French fashion house Lanvin is set to release its inaugural Lanvin Lab collection in collaboration with rapper and producer Future. This new unisex ready-to-wear collection, designed entirely by Future, is set to debut next year, marking the first of many rotating collaborations under Lanvin Lab.
Lanvin, founded in 1889, has faced challenges in defining its identity since the departure of Alber Elbaz in 2015. With Bruno Sialelli leaving the role of creative director earlier this year, the brand is yet to announce a replacement. This collaboration with Future comes at a time when fashion and entertainment industries are strengthening ties. Notably, Pharrell Williams was recently appointed as Louis Vuitton men’s creative director, and the industry saw a significant stake in Hollywood’s Creative Artists Agency acquired by François-Henri Pinault, CEO of luxury goods company Kering.
Future, known for his distinctive style and love of luxury fashion, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, calling it a “perfect fit to introduce me to the fashion world on the next level.” The collection is described as a blend of Lanvin’s classic style with a touch of Future’s vision, featuring pieces such as denim overalls, a studded leather jacket, and a black bag with gold, feline-shaped hardware.
Future’s influence is evident in the collection’s incorporation of street style into high fashion. Lanvin’s deputy general manager, Siddhartha Shukla, believes that Future’s personal touch will resonate with the millions of people who are drawn to his music and vibe. This collaboration signifies a new chapter for Lanvin, as it seeks to engage with a wider audience.
In the realms of music, fashion, and culture, this collaboration between Lanvin and Future represents a significant moment that illuminates the intersection of art and individuality. As the collection prepares to make its debut, it promises to offer a unique blend of luxury and streetwear, with Future’s unmistakable influence at the forefront.
